Add Products and Add-ons
This section provides functionalities that allow a merchant to create categories of products based on similarities. An example of such a group would be food items that all play a particular role when the customer is ordering. This could be pizza toppings or other extras, or really whatever category the merchant sees fit. If the merchant wishes, these pages can also by accessed by the system manager who would create product-related information on the behalf of the merchant.
Product Group
Product groups allow the merchant to categorize their products into various divisions for easy management. The page will show all of the product groups that a merchant created . The same products can also be reused in more than one group. The merchant has the ability to create, edit, delete, or view different product groups.
Product Item
This page shows all of products created by the merchant for all stores. On top of the page, you can find user actions such as Add, Edit, Delete, Search, and Sort.
The products are displayed in a list view and each product has the following actions associated with them:
- Active/ Inactive: Make the product enabled/disabled by flipping the switch.
- View Availability: View which days and timings the product is available to the public.
- View Details: This will show the product name, a description, the price, which group(s) it falls into, the stores it is available, and an associated image.
- Duplicate: This copies all of the above information of the selected product to create a duplicate. However, the details are editable for if the merchant needs to change anything.
- Edit: Edit the product details.
- Delete: Delete the product from the product listing.
- Select: Click on the product to select. Note that you can only edit or delete one product at a time.
Upon clicking the + button from the top menu, a merchant can add a new product to Timely, and tag the product into various categories for easy management. Later these products will be displayed in an application under the merchant‘s name.
When deciding the availability of a product, he merchant can choose any the following actions:
- a. Create the product now and activate it later.
- b. Create a future product and schedule the activated date.
- c. Set availability of the product during the day.
Add-on Group
Add-ons are accessory items that a customer can supplement their order with, for little to no extra costs. To make management of this easier, the merchant can create an add-on group and combine any number of add-ons under that group. By doing so, the merchant can easily tag more than one add-on to a product. For instance, there can different number of add-on options available for a chicken burger, and the same might be applicable for a beef burger as well. So, the merchant can create one add-on group with all the add-ons, and then tag the same group into different products.
Merchants can navigate to this page by clicking on “Products” and then “Add-on Groups” from the left menu. The default view will show the entirety of the add-on groups already created by the merchant for all stores. At the top of the page will be the common menu of Add, Edit, Delete, Search, and Sort. Also, each add-on group will be displayed in a single row with the following actions:
- Active/ Inactive: Enable or disable the add-on group by flipping the switch.
- View: View the details of the add-on group without editing options.
- Duplicate:Copy the details of the add-on group to create a new one, with possibly changing some information.
- Add items: Add add-ons to this group.
- Edit: Edit the add-on group. Clicking on “Submit” will activate these changes.
- Delete: Delete the add-on group.
- Select: Click on the product to select. Note that you can only edit or delete one product at a time.
To create a new add-on group, the merchant can click “+“ from the top menu. This will open up a drop-down menu for the required information such as name, description, image, etc. Also, the merchant will have the ability to include the existing add-ons to the newly created group.
Add-on Item
In this section, the merchant will be able to create individual add-ons for inclusion with an add-on group. This section is again accessed from the left navigation menu. These add-ons will be displayed to the user in the application along with the other products, and the merchant can tag the same add-on to different products.
The default view is the list of all the add-ons created by the merchant. The top is the action menu is where a merchant can create, edit, delete, search, and sort.
The add-ons with red tags will be in stores, and the yellow tags show the groups to which this add-on belongs. The actions available to each add-on are the same actions that were mentioned earlier for the add-on groups.
- Active/Inactive: Enable or disable the add-on by flipping the switch.
- View: View the details of the add-on without editing options.
- Duplicate: Copy the details of the add-on to create a new one, with possibly changing some information.
- Add items: Add add-ons to this list.
- Edit: Edit the add-on. Clicking on “Submit” will activate these changes.
- Delete: Delete the add-on.
- Select: Click on the add-on to select. Note that you can only edit or delete one product at a time.
“Search” is used by typing in the product name, and filtering the view to separate from similar add-on names.
